Finding a credit card is a personal choice, but here we offer a selection of sites that may help you with this choice. Each of us has a different financial and credit situation so no card will fit everyone's situation. Choices range from cash back ( my favorite) with no interest for several months. I also like no interest forpayment within a few days. Some folks prefer frequent flyer miles and there are hotel cards as well. So look at the selections at the side panel and do your comparison.
Remember, credit cards are more tightly regulated by Federal law than debit cards if they are lost. There also may be benefits for returned goods and their warranty. - Bill

Choosing a Computer
There are so many choices that it is really difficult especially if this is the first computer. So the question is, "What should I do to begin?" The usual answer is to first decide what you want to do with the computer. But, this becomes more difficult because what you need now may change when you use it for a while. So I have included articles that hopefully will help you learn what you need to make a more informed choice. Tech support can be really helpful in a pinch.
Do you want to run "point and shoot" games? They are very demanding and need a high end processor, fast video and plenty of memory (RAM). Less demanding is listening to TV and video on the internet or playing DVDs. The least demanding is checking email.
Then there is a choice between Apple and Microsoft. Apple can be a little easier, but Microsoft's Vista provides more software alternatives. Most programs will work with Vista these days, but there is often a problem running old programs with new operating systems so check compatibility first.
The monitor is also important. Today there are reasonably priced large monitors. I have a 22 inch Samsung, but now I prefer a 24 inch. They present a really beautiful sharp image that is really pleasant to watch and the price is not that much more than smaller less capable monitors.
Enjoy the search--learning can be fun. And if you live in our community join the computer club--we will be glad to help. There are also lots of books and internet sites that will help. If you belong to Costco, you might want to take a look at their offerings which include two year phone support. -- Bill

Shopping for the Best Prices
Here is just one tip by one of our neighbors.
Once you know the item you want
Go to FatWallet Hot Deals Forum
Browse Hot Deals posted by users
Search for item you want
Best to use model number such as SD800
Note that some posts will use language such as…
PM = Price Match
YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary
Coupon = Maybe linked in post or you might have to do a Google search
Sometimes Tips found at FatWallet will lead to a deal available through another site
Tip about additional AAA discount @ Dell
Tip about calling Dell for possible better deal
Such tips recently saved me about $275 ea. off of Dell’s best advertised price when buying 2 new PC’s: Saved $554 = over 14%
Also use “Compare Prices” link
Search for model number
Enter zip code
Sort by “Bottom Line Price”
Above = just 2 tools for finding great deals
Also try Amazon.com, Costco.com & Google
No “one place” always has the best deal
